Application of the in-situ stress testing technology for the design of operating pressure of underground gas storage reservoir

The appropriate design of the operating pressure underground gas storages (UGSs) is great significance to their safe and profitable operation. In situ stress basic data for determining upper limit UGSs, analyzing fault stability in reservoir areas, evaluating trap tightness. Generally, injection UGSs a comprehensive geomechanical problem. After research comparison measurement methods, it believed that induced by hydraulic fracturing can accurately obtain value near wellbore, having knowledge about path will considerably decrease risk cap rock instability during production. Taking Well C1, an oil reservoir-type UGS Block M, eastern China as example, this paper introduces use (HF) testing technology minimum principal values caprock, floor intervals C1. measured caprock 32.8–36.8 MPa.
